Host Security Configuration Assessment (HCSA)
Service Description
Activity’s Host Security Configuration Assessment (HCSA) provides a detailed, analysis of a system’s security configuration and implementation. The assessment identifies potential vulnerabilities and weaknesses resulting from the configuration and deployment of the host; Activity’s evaluation benchmarks the system against industry best practices, regulatory or contractual requirements.
A Host Security Configuration Assessment provides insight into the resilience of a host such as a computer desktop, laptop or server system to withstand attack from unauthorised users and the potential for valid users to abuse their privileges and access. An effective assessment evaluates the security of the host system against best practice criteria to validate security mechanisms and identify vulnerabilities.
Experienced Activity consultants will provide a full assessment of any host with the goal of identifying vulnerabilities that could be used to compromise the host system, that would potentially result in the loss, modification, exposure or destruction of information that the device and or system stores and processes as well as the circumvention of any security policies or hardened configurations. Activity’s approach simulates real-world attacks to provide a view of current vulnerabilities and threats to the host system.
Experienced Activity consultants are able to provide a client with an evaluation of the security of their host against best practice criteria as well as government and industry standards.
